Question:
I have a private water well. There was a break in the main line to my mobile home. The line was repaired after a bit. I have copper pipes in my mobile home. The cold water line to the tub and kitchen sink, ( which is beyond the tub) has only a small trickle of water coming through. But the water to the bath sink and toliet is fine. What is the best way to fix the water problem?
Answer:
It is worth checking the kitchen faucet strainer screen, removed by unthreading the end of the spout (in most cases) to see if you can restore flow. If you can, then it is likely that the tub faucet is similarly clogged, and it isn’t a blockage in the cold water line itself. Cleaning the tub valve is a bit more difficult, as you have to turn off the water at the main water valve for your home, remove the handle, and then remove the valve cartridge (there are a variety of different designs, including valve cartidges that unthread, are held in place by large clips, etc.)
If there is no debris in the kitchen faucet screen, the problem may be larger than simply cleaning the faucets. It may be that debris has clogged the cold water supply line prior to both the tub and kitchen sink. These can be difficult to find and clear. If the plumbing is accessible under the home and has long, straight runs, and your DIY skill level allows it, you may be able to clear it. Turn off the water at the main supply valve to your home, cut the cold water line and flush it out by turning on the main supply valve momentarily. Or, use a plumber’s snake and probe to see if you can find the blockage. This is difficult to do with in-wall or above head plumbing that is less accessible.
just had new install of a faucet to kitchen sink..old one dripped constantly..so replaced double faucet set-up with a single handled Moen model…problem is..doesn’t matter if you move the handle on the spiket to the left or right..only hot water comes out..no cold??..any solution??..when install was done..lines were followed exactly as they were previously set up as far as a cold water line and a hot water line re-attachment..very frustated..:-(

what would cause a kichen faucet to erupt and break apart and the water just shot at like a geyser, at the time I was wahing dishes. Could pressure in the pipes cause this kind of problem? I live in a high rise building 10th floor.
Why is there no water coming out of our tub faucet & shower head?
We have a double sink in the kitchen. The trap was cleaned and checked but we still have trouble with it draining. One sink is a 1 1/2″ deeper than the other one, and the higher one pools water and drains very slow. The other sink bubbles up while it drains. There is a dishwasher connection attached to the bottom of the deeper sink. The higher sink drains to a T thats connected under the dishwasher connection, then to the trap.
What can we do to correct this PROBLEM?
THANKS,
problem with bathtub. It takes a long time for the cold water to ever start running. But when I turn on hot water, it works fine.
