Question:

I’ve installed a hand held shower. When the cold water is turned on, the water flows freely. When the hot is turned to hot, the water shuts off. The water heater is on warm/hot. What is going on?

Answer:

If it is only the shower that is doing this, (and not ALL the hot water faucets in the house), you probably need to remove the shower handheld sprayer from the hose, turn the water on in the hot position and see if a stream of water comes out of the hose. If it does the shower head is clogged. If it doesn’t, the stem/cartridge may be plugged and needs to be pulled and cleaned and/or replaced.
