Question:

I need to connect a copper hot water line to cpvc pipe, both 1/2″ ID.  What is the correct adapter to do this with that will pass inspection, and must this type of connection be made in a freely accessible location (i.e. not inside a wall)?  I am leaning towards a compression type fitting to avoid having to sweat copper to copper.  If I have to do that I may as well run copper the whole length.

Answer:

You can use a Sharkbite connector which will fit CPVC and transition to the copper line as well.
