Question:

I have 2 bathroom sinks back to back on the same wall they both drain really slow and back up into each other. I have taken apart the pea-trap and can’t find an obstruction. Drain cleaner works temporarily. Some say I need to snake the drain vent on the roof top. Is there such a thing?

Answer:

Back to back drains are difficult to snake. The plumber will have to take both p-traps and waste arms off in order to make sure the snake is going down the drain. It probably will need to be snaked at least 50 feet and 2 to 3 times to totally clear the grease from the line. Use a degreaser like Simple Green and some really hot water to flush the line out after you put the traps back on.
