Question:

What type of wood is not used to make plumbing tools? Boxwood, beech wood, hornbeam, or pine?

Answer:

Actually all 4 types of wood have been used as tool handles since the 1800′s.  Boxwood, Beechwood and Hornbeam are all hard woods and very durable.  Pine is a little softer but is used for shovels, rakes, hoes, etc.  I have an antique “Monkey Wrench” from the 1930′s which has a pine handle.
