Question:
Just recently had our kitchen remodeled and had a plumber add water lines to a new kitchen island with a vegetable sink. Kitchen’s great but since the remodel, I notice an initial cloudiness and a bitter taste to the water from both kitchen sinks. The cloudy-ness and taste are better if I let the water run for a few seconds. Is my water safe to drink? Any suggestions?
Answer:
Did the plumber flush the lines for at least 2 to 3 minutes when they were done with the rough in? If not, the aerator may be clogged with left over flux from soldering. You may need to remove the aerator from the faucet and replace it. Most fluxes are a solvent based acid which wont easily wash out.
