Question:

Everytime we flush our toilets or take a shower water comes up from underground on the side of the house (not under the house). This has just started recently, but it is a very old house. What could this be? What should I do?

Answer:

The mainline is probably cracked or broken. Your local plumber can dig up the pipe and replace the broken section.
