Question:

Today, the hard plastic lid of a mirror fell down the toilet and was flushed. The lid is approximately 6cm by 9cm and has been completely flushed away. The bowl is draining fine at the moment but I am worried that the lid will get stuck further along in the pipes and cause a problem. What should I do?

Answer:

You may have to have a plumber come and remove the toilet. He can put a camera down the sewerline to see if the mirror is in a position to get caught in the line. This could cause problems such as sewage flooding into the house. The mirror may even be still trapped in the toilets internal trap.
