Question:

Kids bathroom backed up – toilet, tub, & sink. Long story short, Roto Rooter scoped it and said the pipe had a “zipper crack” (or something like that. I got the info from my wife while out of the country. The house was built in 1972 on a cement slab. The bathroom – is most likely a branch off the main. That means cutting through a section of 900 sq foot tile floor & the tile is no longer available. Two other plumbers told me that if one section of pipe is deteriorating, then the whole system should be replaced. Do I have any other options?

Answer:

There are companies that use a fiberglass-like foam which they use to reline a sewer line without having to excavate it.  Google this phrase ”sewer pipe relining”.
