I have been having problems w/water backing up both my bathrooms. One is bathtub and shower. We called plumber and rented the cord to fix problem, it worked for a week but now problem is happening. Except now the smell is worse from tub and shower only. What can be causing this problem?
Answer:
The drain from the tub and shower needs to be re-snaked. Most plumbers will give you a warranty, so try calling the plumber that just did the work and tell them it backed up again. The snake should be run all the way to the mainline. I would also have the mainline snaked in case it is backing up into the tub/showerline.
