Question:

The element in our water tank keeps breaking. Could you tell me what might be causing this last one? It lasted only 8 weeks.

Answer:

How old is the heater? Was it flushed/drained on a yearly basis to keep sediment from building up inside? Sediment build up is the number one cause of element failure. You may have to change the heater if it is more than 5 years old which is about the life span of an electric water heater.
