Question:

What are the permissible lengths of hot water draw-off in water regs?

Answer:

Hot water can be drawn from quite a distance as long as the pipe is correctly sized. For example, if the water heater is, say, 75 feet away in the garage from the master bath. The feed line would be 3/4″ from the water heater to the bathroom, and then it could be reduced to 1/2″ to the fixtures. If it were 100 feet or more, it would be 1″ pipe for the feed line and reduced to 1/2″ at the fixtures.
