Question:
I was having a problem with the pump control. When the pressure dropped it would engage and then immediately disengaged. If I moved the low pressure cutoff lever it would pump water. The tank was water logged and rusted. I could not get water out of the tank and I believe the bladder had dropped and was blocking the out flow. I replaced the tank and all piping leading to the tank. When I restarted the pump it pumped up and shut off correctly. When the pressure dropped it engaged and immediately disengaged as before. I had not replaced the control but then did so. When I started the pump, the new control does the same thing. What could be the problem?
Answer:
Not sure what the problem could be without being there. Have you checked the inlet on the pump to make sure it is not clogged. Is the pump able to handle the head pressure? Do you have a check valve to prevent water from slowing the inlet pressure. Try calling the pump Manufacturer and see if they can trouble shoot the valve.
Solution:
Thanks for the info. I have since figured out what was wrong. The bladder in the new tank was stuck and not allowing enough water into the tank. I released the bladder and now it works fine. Thanks again.
