Plumbing Question 10

November 23rd, 2009 Leave a comment Go to comments

Question:

I replaced the hot, cold and diverter stems in my shower because everything was dripping. No more drip when turned off, but water drips from the handles when I turn on the water and the diverter doesn’t shut down the hot water completely when I switch to shower mode. What should I do?

Answer:

The packing nuts on the stems need to be given a half turn or so. The diverter does not shut down the hot water when it is in the shower mode. The diverter – diverts water from the spout to the shower head and vice versa.
