The Bidet Toilet

The US has always been one of the leaders in almost anything in the world. However, when it comes to bidet toilets, only a few have heard of it. In fact, the bidet toilet is a common choice among other civilized nations. In the US though, it has failed to catch on, and manufacturers are still hesitant about selling bidet toilets because quite frankly, there isn’t much of a demand for it.
What is the Bidet Toilet?
A bidet toilet is a regular toilet bowl with a faucet-like fixture inside the bowl. When turned on, water flows through the fixture and cleans your behind after you’re done with your deed. Some will use a toilet paper to wipe off the water while some, after rinsing, just zip up and leave.
So why would you want to get one? Well, for the obvious reason of hygiene. It will obviously clean better than just the usual wiping of toilet paper. Nothing beats washing off with water. Imagine if you had to take a bath by just wiping yourself off without water. Curiously, even in some third world countries where they don’t have bidets, they just use a water dipper to splash water on their behinds. Besides, it is a healthier way to clean up.
Bidets come in a wide range of designs and features with some options too, if you like. Although a basic bidet will do just fine, there are some who like to take it to the next level. Visiting a showroom near you will open you up to a world of possibilities that you never though existed. Some examples of these are bidets with a pulsating stream, some with heated seats, others have adjustable temperature stream and a built-in bum dryer. But that’s not all of it. There are tons of innovations to choose from and there will certainly be one that will catch your eye.
Bidets aren’t that expensive too. Of course, the price may escalate if you have a lot of features and options. A basic bidet will cost you somewhere around $200 which isn’t such a big deal. Besides, you’re doing this for health. Other models though will go upwards of $400 depending on the features. Try to visit shops near you or you can start by browsing the net for any piece of information you can find.
If you think that bidets has got you curious but you’re afraid to commit, you can try buying a bidet seat. Instead of buying the whole bowl, you can just install the bidet seat to your existing toilet bowl, instantly transforming your ordinary toilet bowl into a bidet toilet bowl. There are a lot of brands to choose from and just like the toilet bowls, these bidet seats also come with their own features and options. If there is a difference between a bidet toilet and a bidet seat, it will surely reflect on the price. This make a bidet seat great for anyone who wants to try before committing to a more expensive bidet toilet.
A hand held bathroom bidet sprayer is so much better than a stand alone bidet or bidet seat and this is why:
1. It’s less expensive (potentially allot less).
2. You can install in yourself = no plumber expense.
3. It works better by providing more control of where the water spray goes and a greater volume of water flow.
4. It requires no electricity and there are few things that can go wrong with it.
5. It doesn’t take up any more space, many bathrooms don’t have room for a stand alone bidet.
6. You don’t have to get up and move from the toilet to the bidet which can be rather awkward at times to say the least.
